Man, this thread isn't nearly as entertaining since that troll left!
Meltom Thanks this. -
Been seeing alot of reefers piggyback for some years now. We should be a little more specific: coast to coast outside of specialized and teams is pretty much a dieing thing. Running a local or regional reefer can be done and that is what you should look for or running for a company that has a locked in contract ( think SNI/Wal-Mart ). Remember though that the contracts come up for renewal every few years and can be lost. Running as a company driver for a supermarket is the best way to lock in as much of a guaranteed reefer job as I can think of but its pretty hard to get onto one.

Yes I agree. But I was talking about roehl refrigerated and leasing to that side. They do it so much that the latest vm we have is looking for drivers to take them from wi to the Chicago rail yard, and 4 drivers in pa to pick them up and deliver. That is very bad for the otr guys because that's basically the only decent run we have on the reefer side. (i do not support roehl utilizing the railroad to move our loads) we are not set up for it, companys like jb hunt are good for that because their drivers get paid well and are home nightly and they focus on that division 100%. Problem here is we are not set up for that and the otr drivers are the ones that wind up losing instead of local drivers gaining.

I hope that wasn't directed at me! If so you obviously haven't read my prior posts. Just because I have different opinions on some of the things they do does not mean I don't like it here. I love my life I make a lot of money and enjoy the people I work with for the most part, if does get old having all these students at terminals that have no clue what they are talking about. And don't use the cr england line that's mine from page 6 of this thread! Lol

I have taken up for them since this thread started go back and read. I also manage and created the o/o fb page.

what you just described about Roeh...It is very hard for me to believe..first of all any trucks equiped with electronic log have a gps tracking device..it is not to spy on you but to make sure that you running the route they gave you and your performances on the vehicle....they will see you if you following too close...what wrong with that when a company try to protect their driver and the public..if you do what you told you wouldn't run to these problems
-
I don't think you are reading posts from me. Ask anyone else on here I have always supported roehl as a company and have helped many drivers get started here. I don't know where you saw me say anything about them spying on us, in fact quote any post that I have said something if that nature. I am labeled as a roehl cheerleader because I take up for them so much. As I said I may not like everything they do, but that doesn't mean they are a bad company for it. You are obviously very confused as far as my relationship with roehl goes. Please quote the post that made you think I said roehl is spying on me.

And I'm an o/o I can run any route I choose and fuel wherever I choose.
