Hey, Ignore my original post. Been out a month and just got home time. Maybe I wasn't thinking straight Didn't mean to offend anybody, also keep in mind I didn't insult anybodys Mother. D.M just told me I don't have to get my next load till Monday. Ah yes home time, and tonight life will look rosier from the bottom of a glass. Happy New Years
scottied67 and rootintootinredneck Thank this. -
Don't sweat it - Happy New Years!
Jimmy Hoffa Thanks this. -
Trucking ain't for everybody...awwww

Ever look at other careers? Trust me, truckers have it way easy compared to some out there.
How about major (and minor, these days) law enforcement officers? Crap hours, never knowing if the next minor traffic stop is gonna be the last, being viewed as the enemy by the very people they are there to protect. Oh yeah, and in alot of cases in smaller areas, PART TIME WORK! I know a LEO in my area who has to work for 3 DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS just to make a semi-decent paycheck. And trust me when I tell you he rarely clears more cash in a week than I did in a bad week of driving. Hell, CR England drivers see more money in a week than this poor schmuck.
How about programmers? Kill yourself putting 80-100 hours per week on a salary to create a program, staring at a computer screen until your eyes bleed, just to find it offered for free on a bittorrent site within hours of release.
ER Doctors? Horrid hours, below standard pay, heartbreaking work. Imagine having to try to save a child that had been beaten half to death by it's own parents. Could you deal with that? Ever? Without going completely homocidal? I couldn't.
First responders? You know, EMTs and firefighters and all those hardworking, courageous folks? Their pay absolutely SUCKS compared to the amount of work and constant education they deal with. Not to mention the tragedies they deal with on a daily basis.
If you think trucking sucks...find another job. Cause there are plenty out there that are far worse than trucking that are done by folks who would never consider doing anything else...at least until they finally burn out. And not many of them can look forward to eventually earning 65,000-80,000/year if they stick with it for a couple of years. Plus trucking requires far less training to get started in than many other careers. I don't see any EMTs or social workers running around with a total of what? 8 weeks of training between school and On-The-Job?
Yeah, trucking sure sucks. Getting to do a job that mostof us enjoy, getting paid pretty ###### well to do it, and for me personally...waking up in the morning with a big goofy grin on my mug cause I get to drive me a big truck!! I loved the hell out of driving truck, and will never regret the time I spent doing it. But trucking ain't for everybody. Niether are being an ER Doc, a First Responder, or a Law Enforcement Officer.
If you don't want to be a trucker, find something else you do want to be. Remember the best peice of advice I've ever recieved in my life: Do what you love, and you'll never work a day in your life.Old Tex and Gold_Miner Thank this. -
Trucking sucks, so what? So does every other job that is not ones "true passion" this is what we call life.....It sucks, you pay a lot of taxes, then you die. The End.

I'm glad you got a big goofy grin on your face, C.R. England, computer programmers, my god, let it go. I said I didn't mean to offend anybody. I'm glad you like it and wish you well. Christ I got kids older then you. Did 2 west-pacs myself in the early 70s never got a pat on the back for that, never asked for that either. Cops and 1st responders, my god let it go. With me the check ain't in the mail, my dues have been paid in full. Again I wish you all well and no offense.
CommDriver Thanks this. -
Things are always taken out of context here. And of course, people here love piling on and attacking. It's kind of like a snowball effect. A couple of people set the tone and then everyone else agrees with them and joins in the attack.Jimmy Hoffa Thanks this.

You may have kids older than me, but I got socks with more miles on them than you!
I'm just sayin that you're right. Trucking ain't for everybody. Find what's right for you...
