Yes, so many people are getting into this industry just for a "paycheck". Hopefully the economy will get better so the majority of all these people who shouldn't be driving trucks can get back to their old jobs.

@ Jimmy Hoffa....There is risk in anything worth having....When I started trucking in 1957 I made six ( 6 ) cents per mile....It WAS NOT just a job to me.....Forty five years later in 2002...I retired making six figures ( Teamster car hauler ) and if I could live my life over ....I'd do the same thing....except for the three ex wives...NO trucker ever started at the top....Being a professional takes time AND the ability to be open minded so we never stop learning....

Don't mention unions on this forum....it's like telling everyone you're a satanist!

If you have been driving for 10 years, yes you got socks with more miles on them than me, bout 10 times more, I ain't a longtime driver, never claimed to be. Just a pay check to me. I do try my best to be safe driver. So far I always deliver on time, but King of the Road I ain't. Again I wish you all well. It's New Years and I got home time, gonna celebrate. Happy New Years!
