I'm a trucker who runs in US. I have my own authority and I work with brokers.
Recently, i got embankment in Colorado. My truck and trailer is gone. They are both pretty much unfixable. They were both financed and it's been a little bit over a year since I financed it and having authority for myself.
What's going to my insurance do? It's my first incident and not sure what's going to happen.
Also, does anybody have idea if I'm going to get paid by my broker, i was in half way from the receiver.
Thanks.

What do you mean by you got embankment? Did you crash and lose your truck and trailer while loaded?
-
No.
If your a house painter and your painting a house and get it half done and fall and brake a leg do you think your gonna get paid for the job? -
So, you rolled the truck in a ditch.
Your insurance will pay the financing agent the value of the truck and trailer. Of course, it will not cover what you owe on the note, so you are on the hook for the rest.
The broker won't pay you anything, since you didn't complete the load. Your load insurance will pay the value of the load to the shipper, since you destroyed it.
You are left with bills in your pocket and no way to make any money to pay them. Hope you got some extra cash in the bank.
And your insurance carrier will probably drop you as well. -
What was the load and the value of it along with the total weight of said load? Claims are based on Declared Value on the Bill of Lading or so many dollars per pound if not stated.
Less the salvage value of course. -

I would answer this, but non of my spell or grammer check programs could decipher what he typed.
OmcCheese Thanks this. -
THANK YOU!!!!! I do not understand how some people can communicate. I read some of the posts here and It becomes real clear to me why the general public think truck drivers are ignorant..
