Just finishing up on my first year experience driving OTR for PAM Transport. I am now ready to move on to a better carrier. I have narrowed it down to crete but I am wondering what the transition from my carrier to crete will be like. Will I have to ride with a trainer again or will I just have to do the two day orientation. I have read three weeks with a trainer and have read two days orientation. Need some help.

With documented driving time, and good driving record, I have not had to go out with a trainer after my initial period. New company usually will only have a driving test, but some accept your experience record.

It is good to hear that transistion from PAM to Crete will not require another three weeks with trainer. At the end of one year with PAM I am making 32 Cpm. I never realized when I signed on with PAM how bad they pay. But they did do for me what I wanted from them.to do...one year exp and they sold me my CDL for $1000 that they allowed me to pay back weekly. ($45). I am excited about being able to earn a little more money working for crete. Bringing home 400-550 a week was getting old. I would stay out for 4-5 weeks and take 4 days off. Only had one paycheck over 650 that was when last half of my sign on bonus was due and had a 3600 mile week. Going to call Crete as soon as I have that CDL school diploma in my hand, until then... ill be driving for Penny A Mile.

400-550 a week, BEFORE TAXES? And that week you drove 3500, you only got 650 before taxes?? Something's not right there...:biggrin_25513:
