You must be running on the comic books, not qualcomm.

The $1.20 fuel is based on your purchase of fuel at or below the national average and getting better than 6mpg to get the fuel surcharge that varies based on the national average price of diesel. It usually will work out and if in the right place in the country and are getting good mileage you can be paying less than the $1.20.
Someone else explained the drop yards...
Maintenance accnt is per mile basis and "so much" per week as you define to them. They have a set amount that is .01 per mile and $50.00 per week. Some drivers put in more so they can afford tires and use it as a savings accnt for quarterly taxes. Not too good an idea for that since it gets no interest.
I started leasing after the first year and started with a 1 year old truck that had just over 100,000 miles on it. The steers had to be replaced on the other drivers dime and now with just over 200,000 I am figuring I will have to get new drives in the spring. Large expense...
Would I lease again? An emphatic NO! When you are getting good loads and are running hard the money is good. When the loads are short and a lot of waiting time between, the money is less than company drivers. If you take a week off, the lease still needs to be paid and you get a negative paycheck. I have 1 year left on the lease and after it is done I intend to go back to driving company and if they will not allow it, I will switch companies. With the amount of miles that I run I am making about the same as a company driver and shoulder all of the risk. The truck that I have has an APU (that I pay for) and a fridge (part of the truck) and some other stuff that I added for my own comfort, but the accessories are not worth the risk and the pay. They don't allow APU's on the company trucks so at the end of the lease I will be selling it or just let it go with the truck since it is almost $2,000 to get it taken off.
Maybe I will change my mind later on, but the new trucks now require DEF and that is another expense that the leas op has to pay and will lessen the profits. the HOS rules are going to change in another 18 months if the lawsuits against DOT fail so that will mean less hours to run. Unless pay goes up to offset the additional cost, not worth it.

i've never provided my w'2. but it's a good idea. IF you still have them. youi won't get copies over 2 years so don't bother trying. the law states 2 years only.

    just list the companies.

i have absolutely NO ONE to verify.

i was an auto mechanic. then retail for a MAJOR corporation. then trucking.

my last 2 jobs of 8 years just recently closed shop. not one company i've EVER worked for still exsists.

Just an fyi, the apu is only $500 to have taken off and you need a place to store it. The local thermo king takes it off and may sell it for you, I don't remember. I had a friend just 2 months ago turn in his lease and he has his apu sitting at home.

you won't have less hours to run. you can still drive the 11. you just now have to take at least a 30. it doesn't shorten your 11. only shortens your 14.

and some of the rules kick in on february.

I chose Central because of the lack of training horror stories. They cleaned house this past year and are maintaining comparatively high standards. I can't say enough good things about the school instructors. My trainer will get to SLC today so I can't personally comment on that part of it yet. But they pay comparatively well for training, $450 a week. I don't know what CRE pays, but Central seems to pay on the high end of the scale.

Central goes back 3 years (you'll see that if you go fill out an app online). I had 2 employers in the last 3 years which one of them did go under, I simply provided my w-2 and was good to go. ALL trucking companies verify all dates to the t so much sure you don't fudge anything.

All the other companies I checked wanted 10 full years of employment including times you were unemployed (you had to get 2 different forms notarized stating why and what you were doing during those times of unemployment). Aside from applying to law enforcement and for a top secret clearance in the military, you will never fill out an application as thourough as in the trucking industry (well for the mega carries anyways...go figure huh). If in doubt just call the recuriter and ask...be straight forward. I was let go from my very last employer, I was straight forward, and I was good to go. I did get a very good review/reccommendation from them however.

That 30 minute break thing is a bit confusing, but it seems that will be satisfied while 'resting' getting loaded or unloaded.. "resting" will include sitting in the seats of a parked vehicle or up to two hours before or after 8 hours in the sleeper in a moving vehicle. These changes seem to be an advantage to us.

it's the 34 hour reset rules that suck.. like why on earth would they limit us to one reset in a 7 day period. Seems to defeat the 'rested' reasoning to me. Am I less rested if I took two 34 hour resets.. If circumstances force me to have two 34 hour 'rest' periods which one counts and which doesn't. Love to see how they will program that into eLogs.

That two periods between 1am and 5am makes matters worse. Don't know about you, but if I am sitting around doing nothing for 48 hours I am NOT rested.. Again that should be fun to implement in eLogs..
