Will do. I got there @6:00 PM on tuesday night and left at 6:30 am this morning. I am sure we crossed paths. I was all over the yard. -
I talked to a guy with a Chevy belt buckle while I was waiting for my interview I think he told me his wife had C.O.P.D. and he was headed home was that you?
-
No, my pic is on here somewhere with my truck. wasn't me tho. I was in the drivers lounge wtching TV then would go over to the maverick hotel and watch TV and talk with some of the new guys. I am somewhat of a ratchet jaw and will talk to almost anyone. -
I spent the whole day in class on securment or how to chain strap and tarp a load.Their is an incredible amount of stuff to know. Now every time I drive by a flat bed I look to see how they have it secured sometimes it can be very interesting. I am off tomorrow so I am looking forward to sleep in Later

So we started at 10 am today. We where in the barn all day actually it is just a big building with two flatbeds in it. First we secured different types of reels on a trailer in different positions. Then we tarped a big container and where shown how to fold the tarp so it would be easy to unfold and tarp a load.I spend allot of time looking at other flatbeds when they drive by now I guess it is an occupational hazard.Around 6 pm we went in and watched some videos on driving safely. Then we had to setup the room for the new group that started today. They have physicals tomorrow. Later

OK we started at 10 am today. They showed us how to scan our logs of course mine jammed in the machine so I had to get some one to show me how to unjam the machine. You have to scan your logs in so you get paid. Then we did more logging and map reading. Then we had to drive thru an obstacle course it consisted of Right turn,Parallel parking,Straight dock an a Angle dock. That was my day we finished around seven and we go in at noon tomorrow. There is a rumor going around that they don't have enough trainers for everybody next week but right now it is just a rumor we shall see later
-
So we had more securment training today. We started at noon and we where released at 6 pm. It was a short but tiring day.I climb on the trailer pass the chains get off the trailer to pull the binders back on the trailer to pass more chain. Eye to the front eye to the side and eye to the sky my brain is melting and I am not sure how I am going to remember all this.Tomorrow we go in at noon again then at 6 pm it is off to fort smith Arkansas to help drivers secure loads for a day and a half. so no updates till Friday wish me luck I will try to remember what we do. Later

Well I am back from Fort Smith two days up there was good for me because I understand allot more about securing and tarping a load now. I don't know why they don't send you there first and the fellow that teaches up there is really really good at his job he makes it look easy.
I go out with my trainer on Sunday he is from Shreveport La. so I am meeting him down there Sunday at his house. He wanted to pick me up in North Little Rock on Friday but I was nowhere near ready to go out I only had two days worth of clothes with me up there and twenty bucks in my wallet and I wouldn't get home for three to five weeks
So my girl is gonna run me down there Sunday and we are headed to Houston with a load he already has on his trailer.I learned lots of things from other drivers while I was up there the problem is you never know what to believe and what is B.S.
It may be a while before I update this again.I will keep track of the important things to know and give you one giant update when I get back.It maybe three weeks or it maybe five we shall see. Wish me luck and I will talk to you later. -
Best of luck man! Your posting has really giving me a good idea of what to expect when I start (hopefully) with Maverick. Keep em coming and keep it between the lines.
