Caring about the driver really isn't in their job description.

Well I am soon done with all this, I gave my notice today, and I think they are heading me to Gary tomorrow, which is okay with me. I have some new challenges at home, and need to be there more than once per month. I know I will miss being on the road, but I will not miss all the changes that have taken place over the last several years that have really turned this job on end. One good thing is I get to control the heat and A/C at home, so I won't have to worry about that anymore.

Sorry to see you go but I know just what you mean about how things were and how they are now. To me it all seemed to go down hill about the time "Team Roehl" started to get used.

We'll miss you PA. Maybe you can tell us about what Roehl used to be. I think I may have seen some transistion just in my short time and not all for the better.

Pa ,I never had the pleasure of meeting you, but Iknow you are a stand up guy and roehl is losing a good driver and a excellant trainer. I wish you good luck and I hope you can find a good driving job close to home. God bless and be safe!

If a guy told me that I would make it my mission to figure out how to make it idle. My APU crapped out on me one time. I put a shoe under the pedal and a dumbell (not my student) on top of it. It idled all night long.

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

That is some very valuable information right there! I haven't needed to idle for heat or a/c yet, but you never know.

    DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

The problem is it will not work for all trucks. I could never get it to work on the one truck I had to try it on. Trust me when
its -20 and your a long ways from any place warm and the bunk heater stops working you will try anything. After all 15min of warmth at 2:00am is better
    than nothing.

I'm in a '07 without an APU. I do have a bunk heater that works very well. Im hoping that if they offer me a 2012 then I'll be able to stay in my '07. I like how I can actually hear the engine and hear the engine brake engage.
