1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. Neither waste water injection wells (which this appears to be), nor water injection wells for enhancing recovery, have anything to do with the fracturing process; with the exception of the extremely tenuous link by way of the waste water well being used to dispose of water used in fracing.

There are thousands of waste water wells in operation all over North America (and the rest of the world, for that matter). They are used to dispose of water from all kinds of industrial processes. This is a practise that has been going on for decades. I'm not saying that it isn't possible that this particular well can't be responsible for triggering tremors, but to link it to fracing is simply nonsense. IMHO, in all likelyhood the well just happens to situated near some kind of a fault from which earthquakes emanate either naturally or as a result of stimulation due to the water injection. If that is the case, then the prudent thing to do may be to abandon the well. BTW, water injection wells are operated at pressures that are a fraction of that which is employed during the fracturing process.

No doubt though, some enviro-weenies will get the bit between their teeth and run with it and the ignorant and spineless politicians and bureaucrats will want to soothe the uninformed electorate.

Fracing does pollute water. Is does leak into the water table. Is does destroy the other natural resources near by. No doubt. Will it stop most likely not. Too much money. Hell they do not even have to tell the EPA what chemicals they are using. The water is just the tip of the iceburg. These companies do not care. The government does not care. They are all paid to shut up. My family has lived in Texas for over 150 yrs. Anyone who lives near this action knows #### well what is does.....now let me get back in my truck and go back to hauling some frac sand. The EPA will try to stop it hell that group of nuts does not realize or care about our future. Some things have to be guys. Getting fossil fuels is one of them. Is it sad yes. Is it horrible yes. Do I feel like a scumbag doing this to fellow Texans yes. I have three kids the oldest is 3 1/2 I also have a college degree but when the recession hit I did what I had to do to feed my boys. Most of these companies WOULD NEVER CAUSE DAMAGE IF IT COULD BE AVOIDED but the sad truth is some chemicals will leach into small cracks and pollute. Tough reality but reality.

hopefully they find a way to improve the water concerns they are having....maybe if they spent less on trying to figure out if we can colonize mars or the moon and embrace oil as an opportunity with side effects to be managed and eventually eliminated - they might pour tax dollars into research and not politicians pensions?

How many nuclear reactors are their? How many tvs does your tree huggin activist own - everyone is starved for energy and stuff and guess what it all creates waste....

maybe a contribution mentality might help instead of a conflict mentality...

I think there are some legitimate concerns but no shutdown will happen as those "agencies" run on ($) so Ben Gunn dont worry

Then there are the "enviro" types who hook up a propane line to the kitchen sink and make a terrorist video to get ad sales but a shutdown will not happen at anytime soon that is for sure

There are naturally occurring water sources that contain flammable gas contaminants.

We could all be walking around with three heads and attacking other people like zombies and having our houses blow up all around us and nobody would EVER shut down the great frack!!!!!
pollute away as long as we can have "energy independence" whatever that means.
