There's one canadian per thousand square miles of Canada. Mexicans are every Aztec from the Southern tip of South America. They are coming in FL by cruise ship loads daily, and on the boarders freely now.
South and Central America will be wastelands soon since all of them will be in USA. Canada's population is insignificant, and are closer to be US citizens anyway in practice.
But I don't mind any legal immigrant. Its tens of thousands of illegal immigrants per day that I do mind. No one has even STARTED addressing slowing down the flow of illegal aliens.
Mexico is a benefactor of tourist travelling through their country to the US, and now will hold up every US truck driver trying to make a living travelling through their povertized country. It will soon blend in with USA. -
NO NO NO.
You are confusing TWO DIFFERENT GROUPS of people.
You have confused ILLEGALS, who have no business living OR working here, with Mexican Nationals, for the intellectually challenged: people who LIVE in Mexico and who have been hired by trucking companies domiciled in Mexico that are ALLOWED by NAFTA Rules to haul freight INTO and OUT OF the United States. Not to mention that the majority of your post was dis-jointed non-sequiturs. Perhaps you should have read the "qualifying" statement. Just in case you can't find it, I will offer a clue:Get a GRIP! -
That was my point.

I was ng to leave you alone, but as I read through this thread I have come to realize that you just don't get it.
Mexicans have a 3rd world economy, which puts them at a steep advantage when it comes to competing with US drivers on the bottom line: Labor. Let's break this down for you.
1) Mexican workers make approximately a thrid of what an equivalent American laborer makes. This means that the cost to produce goods is far less, since we all know that the most expensive cost in production is labor. So, if that item used to cost $10.00 to make in america, labor probably was $3 or $3.50 total over the production period. In mexico it would be $1 or $1.15. Which drops the cost to $8 or $8.15. These savings are then NOT passed on to the American public.
2) When the jobs are shipped south, they are NOT replaced. This means that all those people who once had decent jobs are now unemployed. Continue the trend over the course of years and eventually there are no more of these decent "Blue-Collar Middle-Class" jobs available. These people do not have the schooling needed to just change directions dramatically to a service field like computers (which is over-touted as being a good money-maker) or Law.
3) Once those people are out of work they can no longer pay for the products that are now being made in Mexico, because the lower costs (as stated above) are not being passed on to the consumers. This forces more debt, and more inflation to try and correct.
4) Now add in cheaper shipping costs, since Mexicans would now haul these goods directly to the Distribution centers across the country. This means that all those miles once driven by American drivers are gone, people are out of work.
5) Lack of economy due to people being out of work, and goods not selling at price points set years before, cause more companies to move out of country.
You can see where this is going. Wal Mart is a prime example of economy butchering. While they are not sending jobs south, they are eliminating them with their own profiteering policies. When someone who used to work at a local hardware store ends up working for Wally can no longer afford health insurance, they are told to use state assistance. Wal-Mart considers "Full Time" to be only 28hrs a week! NOBODY can afford single coverage on that at only $7/hr, let alone family coverage.
Finally, minimum wage is just that, MINIMUM. This was not some magical number thought up to make everyone be able to support their families. It is the bare MINIMUM... FOR A SINGLE PERSON!!! Costs are also different in the west, which is why it is higher there.
Someone in San Fransisco making $10/hr for 26-40 hrs a week is also paying upwards of 2400/month in rent ALONE.
Get out of the lobbyists no-no areas, and wake up. THEY ARE SELLING US OUT!
***EDIT***ADDED***
For the record, I am no more in support of lazy people, who prefer handouts, than I am of these corporate profit-mongers. I believe that the government should ELIMINATE welfare, AND subsidies. Repeal NAFTA, eliminate welfare, and PUT OUR PEOPLE BACK TO WORK!!! If that is done then people will HAVE to work, and there will be jobs waiting for them when they grow up.
