This is one of the worst companies in the industry I was there around 1 year had 8-10 checks bonus. When I left I gave a 2 week notice ,it took me 2-3 months to get my last 2 settlements and deposits . Agian I say this is 1 of worst companies in the industry and owners are not good people at all ,so if you let them fool you it is your own faught.

Being new to this site, I'm surprised to find so many who have been cheated by Hoosier Tradewinds. ( and I can't PM until I've posted 7 times , or I would have answered )
IF we could find an attorney interested in a class action lawsuit, that's the way to go when there are multiple victims, but in order for them to want to take it, they would have to see signs there would be a payoff someday. And with this outfit, even the courts may not be much of an option.
Have you ever heard of anyone that sued them in small claims court ? That's my next step. The only reason I haven't moved forward is that my husband -- and my driver -- was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. Most of our time and all of our spare cash is being consumed by treatments and co-pays.
That's why the almost 3K they cheated us out of hurts more than it might otherwise -- because he's not able to work now and make some decent money.
Have thought about putting a driver in my truck, but the 3 times I did that they each wound up costing me money, damaging my equipment, it's just not worth it.
IF I hear back from any of the complaints I've filed, I'll post it on here. I just can't figure why this company has been able to get away with this crap.
And I sent them all a letter and told them exactly what I thought of their " Christian ethics and principles ". They give religion a bad name !
You show me where Christianity teaches to screw and cheat the people who work for you ! They will have to answer one day for what they've done. Both here and in the hereafter. -
Just remembered I had started a thread of my own about Tradewinds, so here's a re-cap of my experiences with them this past January --
On January 24, 2012 I entered into a Lease Contract with Hoosier Tradewinds
of Arcadia, Indiana. My truck and trailer , according to the contract, were
to be paid 85% of the gross revenue for the loads we hauled.
From January 26th to February 7th we completed 4 loads, with a gross
revenue of $4,869.71.
On Tuesday February7th, while my truck and driver were sitting empty
in Big Springs, Texas, waiting for Tradewinds' Driver Manager 'Wes' to find
us a reload, that Driver Manager called my driver and told him to find
another company to drive for, and told him that Tradewinds was not set
up to load my step deck trailer.
To me that said Tradewinds was cancelling our Lease, even though the
contract calls for a 3 day written notice of cancellation. When you tell my
driver to leave, you've effectively cancelled our Lease. So I arranged
money for fuel so that my driver could get home, as he was almost
900 miles away, and Tradewinds had shut off his fuel cards leaving
him with no access to funds .
According to the terms of the contract Tradewinds had 45 days maximum
to do a Final Settlement and accounting of monies with me -- the Contractor.
The 45 day period ended March 31st.
To date, Tradewinds has never compensated me for anything , not one dime.
They have breached several parts of their own Lease Agreement. They also
have not communicated with me at all.
Tradewinds owes my company, Midwest Transportation, the percentage of the Gross revenue of $4,869.71 as specified in the Contract.
According to my records, Tradewinds owes my company $2,934.15
Good luck getting this unscrupulous company to do the right thing.
There are other sites on the net with similar RipOff Reports.
Bottom line -- stay away from Hoosier Tradewinds.
If not, you may be their next victim !
-
Have a question for you -- does a driver " not fitting their operation '
give Tradewinds the right to cheat them out of the pay they've
earned ???? Cause that's what they do.
They stop communicating with you. Make out settlement sheets, but never
send you your part of the load pay. EVER.
The settlement sheets for my trucks' 4 loads were done 2/3 and 2/10
and I have yet to see one cent ! -
I will start by saying I have nothing against anyone who has strong religous beliefs. Having said that it is the ones that have to push it on you and how great they are because of it that are the biggest cons. In time they will answer for what they have caused. Too bad so many people will get screwed over before they get thiers.
-
People like Tradewinds only give lip-service to religion. Using scriptures while cheating
people is sacrilegious. -
If you try to file a complaint through the BBB, it asks a few questions. AS soon as
you disclose the complaint is in regards to pay, it directs you to the Dept. of Labor.
THEY won't help Independent Contractors, only hourly wage earners.
That's why I reached out to the FTC, and the Governor ( hoping he will get the
Attorney General involved )
I figure in the end I'll have to sue them in Small Claims court. But getting a
judgement still doesn't put the money you're owed in your hand.
It's only the first step.
My reason for finding these sites to complain is to warn other drivers and
O/O's--
I did some research before I sent my truck there. I found one site with 1
complaint and 1 favorable review. So I took the chance they were ok.
THEY ARE NOT OK ! THEY ARE CROOKS !
BEWARE HOOSIER TRADEWINDS, ARCADIA, INDIANA.
