I have backed them off on many trucks in my area, and in my own fleet. I used to run them all the way off without problem but got a couple that set check engine lights. Now I set them at .035 - .038 . Guys who had problems with cracked housings don't anymore. I... "I" belive that it helps by reliving some of the stress on them

 

no luck i got a code 95 and derated power was no fun lol don't know why some get code and some don't? so gonna set them at 0.35 in morning but won't pull load til monday.also does anyone know if the code and derate will go away on there own or do i need a reset?

Is this a setting independant.of the valve settings?

yes it is on the jake housings.

 

Since u thought u were having trouble with one,maybe u have a bad wire and backing iva's off has nothing to do with ur cel.Just a thought since so many have backed them off with no cel.

 

I've heard of guys backing them off .30 without setting the CEL off. I talked to Mr. Haney about it and he didnt think it was a good idea to back them out.
