Hello, My company ecently wrote its own CSA manual , we are a hazmat hauler, and in the manual it says we need to do ERI every 3 hrs. We are in Ohio and I always understood it to be every 2 hrs or 100 miles whichever comes first. Did that rule change or do I need to talk to my boss about revising this? Thanks, have a good day.

You have to go by Federal Rules.

You should not be leaving with any load without a BOL. I would not leave the shippers Premises.

Thanks but it wasn't the shipper's premises it is in a company yard ... they asked us to pick up a load that was dropped off by another driver. We're still here waiting on their decision... they asked us to make a dummy BOL is that legal?

You should carry blank BOL forms in your truck.
Filled out properly, it can be legal....airforcetoo Thanks this. -
Thanks but we've asked over the Qualcomm various times to be given that information. No answer yet, since yesterday. On the load assignment this information was missing; Point of Origin, Date of Shipment (it had 1/31/12 on it), Designation of "Prepaid", "Collect" or "C.O.D." for freight charges & Number of pieces being shipped. Another thing that my company Driver's Manual states I need is a Signature of the shipper's agent and carrier's agent signature....
I've already asked to be given this information or an original Bill of Lading or be relieved from this load... -
is there a proper way to fill out blank BOL's.
LOL
you can buy blank bol's from truckstops. so yes, they are prerfectly legal.
i've had a c ouple of loads that picked up in the middle of nowhere. and didn't come with bol's. they are basically used for billing purposes. nothing to do with d.o.t.
i don't think there's any rules that state specificially that you have to have a bol for a load.
somebody correct me if i'm wrong. -
everything they are doing is WRONG.
we seriouisly need to start organizing a strike.
we need to fight everything from the employment verification ########.
the csa
and the hos rules.
canada did it in 90. it's time for america to do the same. our job is literally a JOKE to the govt. -
