The gubbermint morons also assume that every time we lay a pen to paper in a logbook that we're lying too. They can't conceive of anyone actually running legally and compliant.

unfortunately the many get punished for the few. If you listen to people rant about E-logs it sounds and I truly mean it sounds like they are all running 2 or 3 books. Now I know that's not true , but perception is truth to a lot of people

In the new U.S.S.A. they do....But in the old United States people were dealt with on an individual basis and not collectively screwed for the actions of their neighbors.

FMCSA revises the hours of service (HOS) regulations to limit the use of the 34-hour restart provision to once every 168 hours .
168 hours is a week .
Say you have 4 weeks and can have 1 day off each week . You take Wednesday off one week then Monday the next . A week hasn't passed from Wednesday to Monday but you are still only taking one day a week off . -

I have personally seen 3 logbooks in use at 1 time. I couldn't do it I would screw them up too bad. But it was in oilfield work not OTR.
