Ok...Here is a brief background on me. I went to National Training here in Florida and graduated got my CDL and went to work for Squire (Knight) Transportation for 6 months. I then went to work for Western Express and have been with them since April 27th...I am at home now for 3 1/2 weeks because it is slow and I have already taken the truck back to them but I am still with the company...call it vacation time unpaid. I have a year and 2 months experience...I have a CLEAN record both personal and professional.
I am looking for a better paying job then .30 cpm...Its a insult and a joke. Like I said I have a CLEAN record on EVERYTHING. I am wanting to bring home $1000.00 to $1200.00 a week take home. I would be willing to do OTR again as long as no NY, NJ or ME...Just burnt out going there. but I would prefer to be out for 5 days and home on the weekends. BTW I drive van and have no endorsements. And I have driven the East Coast plus TX once, IL I used to live there, IN passed threw often, WI once and MI once.
Looking for a better home...

If you are looking for that type of money you need to get into heavy haul.It would be hard to make that money consistently pulling a van.

Seriously, 1yr in and thinks he's worth $70k with weekends off... Oh my, you have much to learn.
I think a more realistic goal would be $750/wk take home with every other weekend off, at least until you have 2yrs and can get hired by companies that don't take n00bs. Or you can try local at $15-16/hr and be home every night. You'll need that time off for your second job... -
On a more serious note, you might want to check with Millis Transfer. They stay pretty busy and the pay for a 1 year experienced driver, according to their website is .37 cpm HHG or .35 cpm practical. Plus they get some bonuses as well. Not sure if you will clear 1000-1200 per week but you will probably come close.

Knight 71, if I was the HR dept and looking at your app, I would pass it over. It's not at all impressive, 2 jobs in a year and currently sitting home because it's slow. .30 cpm is an insult, so no income or unemployment is great, right ? Not trying to bash you, but you need to re-evaluate your carreer.
