cobra cb prices and where

Get a good CB at a pawn shop. For a lot less.

I bought a Cobra 148 model in......1988 on sale at a 76 Truckstop in California for $169.99. Twenty three years later it's pretty much the same price- what does that tell you?

 

It means there's a sucker born every minute if you can find someone willing to pay you that for a 20 year old radio thats been in a truck since 1988...


$109 for a New Cobra 29 is about the going price for those radios...You can find them a little cheaper "On Line" but then you have to watch out for shipping charges.

Buying Used radios, whether it's from a Pawn shop or eBay or anywhere else where you don't know the history of the radio is always going to be a gamble...Sometimes your a "Winner" other times you may have well just thrown your money out the window...

 

Like I said, buy a used one and have a good tech go through it. 95% of the time, whatever the problem is, it doesn't amount to that much. If you are not sure it works when you buy it, don't give over $20-$30 for it. Chances are you won't get burned.

 

If you took the time to read and understand the post you'd realize that he isn't talking about the radio he owns. What he means is the price a new Cobra148 is the same as it was when he bought his.

 

So whats your point....If you go back even 30 years. you will find that the price of a Cobra has not changed....

For as that go's. ALL CB Radios being built and sold today, are going to be either the same price range or cheaper as radios were 20-30 years ago....In most cases radios sold now are allot cheaper than they were 30, even 40 years ago...

Like I said...It tells me there's a sucker born every minute if he can sell a 20 year old radio to someone thats been bouncing around in a truck all that time...

Now it could also mean, the price on a Cobra 148 New today, is the same price they were 20 years ago....Which means nothing in regards to CB Radios...Farther back in time you go, the more expensive radios get compared to todays dollars...



Same stands true for all electronic devices...

 

I guess I've encountered an expert.

 

Check out what a radio would have cost you back in the 70's...And these just had 23 channels...or less...
