whatcha need?

I was wondering if you bought one from Stevens or from outside? I have an 08 with the DPF. Wanting some advice on the maintenance end of it...
-
I bought my truck from Stevens, yes. I looked around at some outside deals, but since I'd had this truck from 53 miles, I knew it's history, it's complaints and it's foibles...and it's maintenance history.
So I bought it.
Be more specific on what you are asking. -
I bought mine from them also. How often do you get the DPF system checked out? Waiting for the warning light to come on seems a bit silly. Is it part of your routine maintenance to have your mechanic check it out? I keep getting attacked by Gremlins in this truck. I'm hoping it will smooth out pretty soon.
-
Not a piss and moan post. Stevens has really stood by this truck, and contorted themselves into some awkward positions to help me out. I'm very thankful! Just wanted some info and maintenance pointers from more experienced owners.

I have the filter serviced at 150,000 miles. Been good to me so far.
I've been told I should do it at 100,000, but I try and get some extra miles.
So basically, once a year or so. -
Okay, good deal. I just changed the ard head, both wiring harnesses and the sparkplug. That was almost $2100. Stevens did the filter about 25k ago. So that should be good for a while.
-
Just random stuff like once a week. Last week my lights quit working, and two days later the tensioner snapped. The list is long! But it should be on its way to giving me a couple months of smooth running.
-
I've got no complaints.
Guess mine must have been assembled on a wednesday.
