Everyone these days seems to think that they're "entitled" to good pay no matter how. Useless they really are.
If you make yourself valuable to your employer it will more than likely pay off with better pay and treatment.
On the other hand, If you are a worthless pain in the ### that never does anything but complain and whine (sound familiar?) you'll probaby never get what you want in life.

That's the benefit of being a good, dependable driver, and the blessing of being able to work the same place for 31 years without a company going belly up.

And like it's been mentioned here, people who typically whine about being underpaid are expending their energy into whining instead of figuring out how to do their job better or smarter than the next guy.
If you feel you are underpaid, vote with your feet.
If you spend 90% of your time griping about your woes, find something that makes you happy. If you are happy with what you do, the money will come, and it won't feel like a burden to earn it.
Yes, it's a different mentality between a guy who clocks in and out, and someone who is on trip or mileage pay and sitting in a traffic jam. I don't see too many people in long haul collecting hourly pay. Those days are long gone.
Trucking is one of the few industries where a little bit of luck, a lot of common sense, and the willingness to work hard to get what needs to be done will take you a long way. It's not that bad of a profession. -
You should leave if you don't think you're getting paid enough for this work.

.4775 cpm (hub miles) minimum of $21.01 hr. If your a hustler you can do upwards of $26.00 hr gotta get in and out of your stops under allotted time, but if you drag your feet your still going to get 21.01 hour..

Now for anything over $17hr and being home everyday in my opinion is a good job and the benifits should match......
what I make as an O/O.....seems like I am making a killing till I add in the cost of operations and maintance, fuel ect ect. But I avg about $90hr before costs and about $60hr after all everything is in. Only good thing is I get home every weekend and work when I want, where I want. But I have no benifits and pay for my own medicalClick to expand...

Is actually have Blue Cross Blue Shield under my own policy. Funny part is that it was $212 a month to begin with, and then I canceled it. 3 months later I called and got it started again....$118 a month now for the same #### plan????? LoL!!Wargames said: ↑Medicare - Medicaid.

Im paid $25.25/hr or 63.72cpm if Im being paid mileage.
Everything after 8 hours a day is time and a half ($37.875/hr)
If I am being paid mileage, all time spent not actually driving is hourly. So hooking sets, fueling, paperwork etc is all hourly. Then when I leave I go on mileage. As soon as I get where Im going, I go back on hourly until I leave again. -
