As a lease operator who is considering purchasing this tractor in Aug it is good to gain information. I see that for an owner the yard is not a good place to get repairs and service. Owners are last to be worked on correct? Lots to learn and understand over the next 6 months as I make my decision.

Well, its a learning experience! I don't live life with regrets period. I'm looking forward to getting through the next 18 months and then ill be with no payment for a couple years, but as Max said there will be increased maintenance cost associated with a tractor nearing a Milli. The yard is good for tires with a advance notice and getting parts cheaper. I have a mechanic that works for Stevens that helps out when in Dallas IE: he did my clutch for $800 and I got the parts from the yard for just over $400...... that's half price the total job! Loves FYI will rotate tires for $10 per tire. I trybto find the cheapest rate and keep a stock of parts in my boxes. Cab bag, break chamber, air bag, filters, tools etc. Stevens stand behind your truck if you buy from them. They stuck by me until I figured out how to fin for myself..LOL!

To answer one question specifically, the yard is not good for service unless you're in good with someone and they will trybto make room for you. Otherwise I leave mine when on time off and it usually gets done by the time I get back. No for PMs, petro is what $20 more and you're in and out with in an hour or 2?
