Sorry to hear that! Never volunteer for anything..... this includes handing out information as well. You felt you were doing the right thing though, or obviously you would not have. Atleaste you have a clear conscious.

    #### Denali...I'm terribly sorry to hear about that. I thoroughly believe that you would have been one of the very few who actually do well in this industry. I certainly hope that you won't stop posting in here as I have enjoyed reading your posts.

On another note: I got my appt. times this am. Pickup at Taylor at 2000. Pickup at Bolthouse at 2100. Riiiiight. I called Taylor Farms, and as usual, the produce is still being planted and won't be ready until 2000. So I call Bolthouse to inform them that it is going to be at least 0100 before I will be there. This confuses them greatly because my appt is for 1000 today[IMG]
They tell me to just get there when I can, and they'll fit me in. The load is due in Cedar Falls on the 16th at 1400. It's gonna be real tight.

Denal have you finished your training period.I do not believe Stevens will hinder your attempts to connect with another carrier.Just dont offer as much info in future encounters with future hopeful employers.Because at this point you dont have a job anyway. If there is nothing to haunt you in records from the past you should be Ok.Just tell future employers that you felt Stevens wasnt who you felt was in your best interest, and your new suitor is.If your not having any problems from an accident that happened almost a half a century ago they do not need to know about it.IMHO.

    flightwatch Thanks this.

"...almost half a century..." That's the thing I tried to explain to the medical staff to no avail. Oh, well. I did what I did and it is what it is. I have no intention of giving up. It's tough to lose to my #1 choice, but there are others and I intend to pursue them. I will say this: My experience - my failure - is of my own making and had nothing to do with Stevens. I learned a valuable lesson about providing very old information that cannot be refuted and I won't do that again. Stevens is a very high class operation. I was very, very impressed with the people and policies I touched in my short time I was there. And Stevens still has the absolute sexiest trucks on the road!

I just feel bad that I'll never have "Contractor Division" under my left arm as I tool down the highway.

Denali, So let me understand this, the medical establishment were OK with you flying aircraft over populated areas but not driving a truck??

"permanently medically disqualified from driving a commercial vehicle" Only at Stevens.

Made it to R's place morris I'll for lunch. I won't be going any farther today. The last 3 miles were a sheet of ice with cars and a big truck scattered all over the place.

Denali hate to hear it. But I do know how the medical staff can be.

    Dryver good question.

And thanks to the drivers insight into the owner/ops at stevens.

And for the insight into the future mangement of stevens.

Anyone else here at morris want to brave the wind and snow? Me I will wait until morning. Stop by and say hi

Some times it is hard to resist. We both got infractions and he got banned.

Lack of communication sucks when stevens makes a change. I better plan on an additional day next time I hit the yard.

I welcome the eletronic logs to get donna off my back about compression.
There are a few parts I am not looking forward to, but I will adapt.

I dont think it will affect me in one way or another sense I train. It has some really nice features on it.They are also trying to set up a system so we can scan our paperwork from the truck, instead of having to stop to do so.THAT WOULD BE NICE.Im actually kind of glad to have it on my truck also.No more paper clutter.Just push a button.I called my Dm this morning and got him to check on my truck, and he says the problem was fixed. We shall see when we hit the yard saturday morn. And as you say no longer can they say you couldnt drive that far in your eleven, you must be compressing.Though I will say since they have gotten the e-logs nobody has said a word to me about compression of anykind.Kind of hard for them to call me out for compression on a 66 mph truck, when they have grad drivers avg 60mph with a 62 mph truck.Just sayin. That e-log doesnt lie.OH heck,I proofread and forgot how to spell since, lol.

I hear that some e-log systems allow the truck to maneuver at low speeds without triggering a change in status, ie moving away from a dock to park or moving around a truck stop etc. Is Stevens like this?
