But the driver himself said I did it, its not like he got up in the morning and couldnt move it...

I have never parked a truck in a ditch but I had my drives sink out of sight in a soft frost boil in a gravel lot. Boss paid the bill.
If I was that driver, I guess I would have went outside and parked it back in a snow bank again but not till after I had packed up my belongings from the truck. -
I seen lots of stuff on the freeway lately it will damage the truck. Then again use your common sense and knowledge to see if he didn't curb the truck. You still need a signed contract if you are 10 99ing him agreeing on negligent driver damage to charge him anything.
-
WOW Are you guys serious? So a driver might need a tow three times a week to get him out off snow and I have to pay 1500 for that week?
-
If YOU hire idiots to drive your trucks then YOU pay the price!
You're the one that wanted to own a company...Owning a company carries a buttload of responsibility along with it and one of those responsibilities is paying for YOUR employees screw ups!
That my friend is why I'll NEVER again own more trucks than I can drive myself.112racing, Stoney, Prom Night Dumpster Baby and 2 others Thank this. -
If there was no way of seeing the object or nothing he could do to avoid it, why make him pay for it? I mean if he curbed it or something, that's different. But you're a cold hearted SOB to make him pay over something he couldn't control.
-
If it wasnt his fault or he/she had no way to avoid it, thats different.
-
You cant be serious!! This whole thread sounds like a 6th grade kid asking "what if". If you REALLY have a driver needing a tow 3 times a week then it's your fault for hiring idiots!
joseph1135, snafu, Bill104 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Here's the deal. Sometimes s#%^ happens. Even to the best of us. If you charge for everything, you won't have a driver. Simple as that. He ran over something on the freeway. You want to take it out of him. What if a turbo blows? Or the clutch goes out? Gonna charge for that too or have him crucified?
