Okay, I dont get how drivers go to small fleets for better pay, But when it comes to responsibility, they still think their driving the Swift trucks. If you wanna drive for me you better take care of the trucks and trailers as your own.

Are you referring to the guy that ran over the road debris, or have you had other problems?

Majority of the time we as the company pay for all expenses being a tire a light bulb or a blown fuse that our equipment and we have to maintain it. Some drivers will pay for some stuff if they are in a hurry and need it done asap and we reimburse them back the full monty as long as they have a receipt to go with or a prior agreement. Some of these repairs if we took it out of their paychecks they wouldnt have a check at the end of the pay period. If it is something that is their fault it will be noted in their profile and if its continuous they will have a meeting about it depending on the severity.

Question: How in the %&#$ is an underpaid, governed company driver going to tailgate a wide open truck? You just can't make up your mind. One day, these 62mph governed trucks are in your way and causing a road hazard because they're too slow, the next, they are tailgating everybody.

    Well, which is it?

(The repair still belongs to the O/P.)

I was a an O/O for 10 years bfore I bought my second truck. Was quite successful at it too BTW. If a driver knows all his ####ups are gonna be taken care without a comment or complaint, his attitude for caring about his equipment is zero. Been there done that too. And if he makes crappy decisions without ASKING me, than the responsibility is all his. The safe operation of the vehicle is at all time the resposibility of the drive not the owner. Don't try to play that pass your problems off on me game. :biggrin_25510:
