I have used lucas fuel treatment. only when I change my filter.(davco) I fill it with lucas, pour rest in tanks if full or when I fill up. have always saw better m.p.g. & better, faster start. just my experience, or just my imagination. but it works for me in my mind, backed by my record keeping. there ARE products that improve performance. some are hard parts, some are in other forms. to each his own. here is an example of what I think I know... turbo 3000d does not work. ecotaz does! both are similar, both make similar claims. testimony on both, brings me to my conclusion, that one of these indeed does work. LUCAS does work for ME! :biggrin_25520:

I somewhat understand it: engine that has cleaner exhaust might have cleaner oil. Specially those with the egr. My oil stays clean to about 9k-10k mi. No bs.

I have the davco filter also, it makes me happy along with Lucas fuel treatment. I would have just used the tranny fluid but I have had my tanks dipped twice before and dont wanna go there. BTW I am not relying on any electronics for my mileage except a calculator and I keep track at every fillup. The dedicated run I had to test it on was perfect as it lessened the variables and I could get a true reading on everything I tried. I always get a PM around 14 to 15 k and keep track of air pressures in the tires and keep everything else maintained as best as possible.

    Therefore, cleaner exhaust/gases.

In addition, if anyone wants to know. I have amsoil by-pass oil filters installed. Easy to change and you're clean. 2 spin on filters, absolute 2-3 micron filters. With the help of the cowpie's advice, I was able to figure out how to plumb the oil lines. Filters are changed every 50k miles. Need to do the test of before and after change-may be I might be able to keep them on longer. O, the mounting bracket that the filters come with are junk. After my first trip-3 weeks, I've noticed that the bracket cracked 65-75% through. Took it off and made one that will outlast the truck, mostlikely. I've installed fleet air filter-high flow supposedly and the high flow muffler. Would like to see if the oil will be able to last longer. Engine runs cooler. Usually oil was about 225*, this current trip of 1000mi, temperature was 205* - 215*.
I got to try that amsoil 2cycle. Oil.

What ratio do you use on the amsoil 2 cycle oil , into the fuel tanks?

I think I will look into the amsoil bypass filters if you are getting that good of results and keep us posted on the amsoil 2 cycle.
