Senate votes to block funding for cross-border program

    Simple Geography and economics answers this question. Being in the Northeast, the price of their goods is going to be higher than down here in the rest of the world. Anything to cut the prices there is, to them, a good thing. They will see the most impact on the economy. for the price of consumer goods.

    Being in the Northeast corner, Mexican trucks are least likely to show up there, creating less impact of the safety and well-being of their society!

    Congress can override any presidential veto with a 2/3 majority in both houses. In this case, that would be very easy to do - and they should!

    Oops, you're right! We already have enough votes in the Senate. I was having a blonde moment and thought a veto required a 3/4 majority!
