Ok find in the law were it states using a smart phone app is the same as making a call. Apps are not texting nor making a call. I use the calculator on my phone while driving so whats the difference? Theres no hand held calculator laws while driving. You can holed the phone to dial a number, you cant hold it to your ear while talking. You can put your phone on a dash type holder much like a GPS unit and still use the app.

Just stating the law. Let someone else argue the fine detail of what is and what is not.

It's a distraction. You know that it is. Why do you need proof? The new cell phone law is a federal law and it over-rules any state law stating it's ok to use your calculator while driving. Or any app that requires you to update it everytime you need to use it.

Better off to make it legal, keep your ducks in a row, and keep on trudging. When its not possible to make things legal, its better to find another route than take a chance on whether or not the coup is open. Your smart phone ap is a nice idea, but not workable, for reasons many have mentioned. Sorry.

The new law says you can't even reach for your phone, you definitely can't dial it. One button voice activated Bluetooth dialing only.

Like I said find in the law where its says that, thats all I ask.Cetane+ Thanks this.

Federal Law? Who listens to that? Marijuana (medicinal or other wise)is against "federal law" yet a multitude of states are ok with it.
Everything is subjective...... -
You have a very good and valid point. I said about this before that i would not mind "trying it"

The new law went into effect 3 Jan 2012 if you can't make the call by pushing 1 button and use a headset to talk on its against the law to use a phone. If you have to pick it up or touch more than one button it is a fine not only to the driver but also the company and the company fine is way up there so i would imagine the driver would be fired on the spot and probably never get another job. As far as your app is concerned some scales open and close with in minutes when they get full or when they feel like it i have watched the signs change as i drove up to them before. so it would be a iffy situation at best to rely on it.

Just curious as to why you would start with IPhone when Androids in service far out number them? Seems the better business model would be the larger customer pool.
Cetane+ Thanks this.
