I don't have a GPS and I don't want a screen of any kind on my dash. They can put it there and it will be removed. Holes or no holes, it will not be on my dash. The holes would only serve to be an irritant until I get to an International and replace that part of the dash.

How about the time I was left sitting at a DC dock with the hook up for five hours and found myself 2 hours over my 14 when they finally dropped the hook. Night dispatch said, "Go ahead and drive to the nearest safe haven." Safety Officer next day said, "So sad, son. 14-hour violation stands. Know better next time." :biggrin_25510:

They "said" it via the QC :biggrin_25521: I gave up 'calling' them a long time ago 'cause half the time they refused to answer the phone.

    Putzes....

I would have logged it as "off duty" driving because I'm going for my own purposes. You may not have that option. But I don't think a single 14 hour violation in six or more months is going to get you canned.

that is definately when line 5 comes in handy. Happened to me once. By the time they released me from the dock, I was at `14 hrs, so hurried and put on line 5, then could pull from the dock and get to the nearest safe haven.

There should be a "hall of fame" for this thread.
Am I in danger of becoming like this?

RR, whenever I am in the situation your describing or even close, I talk to shipper or consignee and ask if they can put me at the bottom of the list to be unloaded, they usually don't have a problem with that..LOL I take my 10 and am usually unloaded by that time. IF, they can not do that than, I simply ask where I can park a 65' rig withina mile of their location. I have never been that situation, and not found a place to park. I know it can happen, have gone over my 14 but, that was my fault. Peace
