In 9 months of working here I grossed $186,346.36, Thats with two weeks of for vacation and a month off with a broken arm. I never posted that I grossed $236K .....I said I was on track to gross $236K, which in a twelve month full calender year would have been feasable. In my opionion $186+K in nine months isn't to shabby.

I am curious as to what you averaged per mile doing the lease? -
Thanks for the response Runningman. 186k in 9 months is more than awesome. No doubt! That comes out to 20,666 per month which still seems like a very high figure for $1400 per week, which I assume you still have to take taxes out of. If you divided the 186k by 12 months, then yes, $1400 per week would be more reasonable.
I'm curious because i'm seriously thinking of joining Malone and I'm trying to minimize surprises.... -
Travelinman,
I know runningman is the resident CRST authority but I will try to give you another account of how Malone is.
I have been with Malone now for a little over 4 months and have grossed right at $77,000 to the truck including FSC. I average about $1,500 to the house every week after deductions, maintenance and fuel. Those figures above are with taking a week off for thanksgiving and a week and a half for Christmas and New Years. If I only average what I have been doing those last 4 months to this year that will put me inline for to make $210,000 for the year. My expectations are higher because of the spring and summer months coming up.
My recurring deductions are about $850 - $900 per week depending on maintenance which is based off your miles for the week. I mentally just take a grand off the top when I try to figure my home pay for the week, my actual pay is usually always more than what I figure.
This is a business and not everyone is a business leader, that is why you are going to get the drivers who tell you that they only take home $300 and others that tell you they take home $1,500 to $2,000 a week. We are all assigned a Fleet manager to help guide us to success but they are only a guide, there are CRST Malone mentors that can also help but ultimately it going to be what you make it.
When I was in the sales field one of my sales managers once told me "you have to have a PHD mentality to help be successful in sales; Poor, Hungry and Driven." I have applied that same mentality to this business and so far I think I am pretty successful, but only time will tell.
I know many will tell you that L/P is not the way to go, but if you have never owned a truck before I believe it is the only way to go. Most of the trucks are in good shape but you will find some that are not, maintenance is stepping up their game and getting them fixed or they will put you in a better truck so you can be successful.
CRST Malone wants you to be successful, if you are making money, so are they. They will do what they can to help, but remember your are the one in the drivers seat of your own success.
If you do come on board and need some advise let me know, I will help as much as I can.runningman0661, Mommas_money_maker and G/MAN Thank this. -
Why are some trucks red and some blue and some gold? Is that What was available at the time of the lease?
-
HandyAndy, I'm not getting how you gross $19200 per month, yet bring home $1500 per week.
$19200 gross
$3808 deductions ($952wk)-
TruckPayment $275wk
Maintenance $250wk
Trailer $185wk
Plates/IFTA $ 75wk
Bond $ 25wk
Securement $100wk
Bobtail Ins $ 7wk
Phy Damage $ 35wk
Fuel $7000mo
Total: $10808mo deductions
Earnings before taxes: $8392mo or $2098wk!!!
If you're bringing home $1500 per week, I'm missing roughly $600wk in my calculations. What am I missing??? -
The gold trucks are the leased ones. The others are probably drivers who own their trucks. -
But i've seen leased trucks that were red and blue as well?
-
They brougth in some Crete and Shaffer Trucks for the lease program.
-
I have $14k set aside for taxes, with all my deductons This should be plenty to cover any tax liabilty I will incur. Your doing your homework which is good. You can make money here, and you seem like you have your head screwed on straigh, so I think you will be fine.
