Here is a map with the state taxes on each state. It pretty much goes with exactly what you guys are saying. Mo, Va, Ga, Al, Ky, Tn are the cheapest.

I wonder, at the age of 56, how much money I would have spent if I smoked. Not to mention how much I've saved on my health. Not begrudging anyone who smokes, hell I come from a family of smokers, actually, I'm down to one parent,the other died from lung cancer. Not to mention an uncle, an aunt and a grandfather that all died as a direct result of smoking. Keep shopping for those cheap smokes.

 

On the I81 corridor around the TN/VA line. VA has very low state tax so TN stores try to lower prices to match them. Also going from I26 into VA merging to US23 through southwest VA they get cheap($30 to $35 a carton for special blends)

 

There is no such thing as "the cheapest cigarettes", Even if they where free!, Think of you family?, How would they be when you are diagnosed with lung cancer, And are no longer around, I have felt this feeling, With the loss of family members, the most resent was my dad, Just 7 days before his 67 birthday, Then 6 years earlier, My cousin, he was 44, left behind a wife and 2 small children ages 7 and 9, There are more but wont continue, I hope you would put your family first, and whats important to you, Smoking?, Or the family?
