As stated by AT and others, I would start in vans. Get your name on the flatbed waiting list ASAP if that is what you want to do as it will take a while to get down the somewhat small list.

PGT? I heard that once before...not sure if they run near where I live in southeastern Michigan.Are they a good company? Equipment? Pay? miles?quick to repair equipment? etc????

Guys here's flatbed company that takes CDL graduates right out of school with no experience. They take you out for a road test and depending on who takes you out "trainer" they'll accept or deny you if accepted they will put you with a trainer for 3 weeks then afterwards you're on your own. Anyway I posted the link below.

If you're thinking about home time I run through MI a lot and see a lot more PGT trucks there than Watkins & Shepard .

Why do you need to pull a box before you pull a flatbed? I never drove a truck before and started out with flatbed and I love it.
