Can someone explain what an "entitled special requirements" CDL Test is all about?

That is basically the test specific to Texas for operating (mostly)commercial vehicles on public roads. Has to be passed before any other tests can be taken.
I don't know of any free online practice questions and answers for it. Can go through that section and highlight what might look like could turn up on a test. (yeah I know,WAG)
Know: max day and night speeds...and on what type roads
Equip on slow moving vehicles
Unlawful equip
Required lighting on type and size of trailer/vehicle
Placement of reflectors if parked/diabled on roadside
Where to get permits for OD
Max lengths---no triples in Texas
Load limits
Vehicle towing
Coasting--following--railroads
Registration of vehicles
Look at the few questions at the back of the section and the appendix on speed limits. Read through it a few times and won't be that hard. -
On a side note. Texas has done away with the split Day/night speed limits. There are no more night time reduced speed limits.

Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately for some. In Texas all tests, except for driving are on computer, even pre-trip. But if you don't pass, the beauty part or sad part is, they give you the correct answer when you get it wrong. So all you have to do is wait the day to take it over, and they ask the same questions just different order. Scary isn't it, or the greatest thing ever, depending on your perspective.

The one question that threw me was about lightiung on a farm tractor. Yes it is on this test. Another thing is van height in texas can be 14' not the typical 13' 6".

The general knowledge test isn't that hard. Try the CDL practice test at the top of the page, this will help. I did the Hazmat practice test about 6 time before taking the DPS test, made a 93!

Vllopez, hey I would love to see those Sec. 14 test questions. Since I am new to the blog it would not let me send a PM until after 7 post.
