I'm confused about the "company" part of the statement???

So your going to lease onto a company that is going to give you .28 for every mile you run, loaded or empty (actual miles) and this is not part of your Fuel surcharge????

Just a little rundown of the things you need to consider into your equation:

Fuel cost (to run the truck for ALL miles driven)
    Insurance
    Maintance
    Truck payment
    2290
    IFTA and fuel taxes
Tax accounting (if you have one)
    Cell phone
    Entertainment costs (movies ect)
    Food
    Misc (faxes, scales, ect ect)
Clothing (boots, gloves, stuff like that)
Tools (you'll need em as an O/O)

And I'm sure I'm missing stuff, but you have to factor in EVERYTHING to get a break even point.

Also, do not figure in your fuel surcharge into your fuel costs. That is part of your revenue.

I think he's doing everything by 100,000 miles a year but he was not adding in the fact of 10% out of route miles or the deadhead miles. So now that 100k turns into 125,000 a year.

if paying myself 31k would a $1.14 be more realistic break even ?
