IIRC only border state residents can get a FAST card.

Some states offer a enhanced lincese that allows border crossing without a passport . Michigan does, it also allows you to travel to certain areas in the Caribbean without one. Ohio OS another state that does, you just have to do a internet seach.

A FAST card is not mandatory. It will make crossing the border easier IF the carrier is FAST apparoved and the shipper is FAST approved. Unless you are hauling car parts most shippers are not FAST approved therefore a FAST card does nothing but cost the driver more money.

 

Think the dui thing is a slight misconception I believe or has changed, no more than one and none in the last 10 years. No felonies is right though.

 

Might wanna check on that one AZS. A DUI is a "criminal conviction" and Canada doesn't allow people with a DUI conviction in unless they have a pardon or a waiver.
