Unfortunately, with the freakin' "Big Brother" gubbmint affixing itself within every orifice, we will ALL be on eLogs soon. I say that we will have to be on them by the end of 2013 to the beginning of 2014. After all, we can't handle it by ourselves... we need Obama's help, don't ya know!?!![]()

I'm in the App process now, and then read your post. So... the DOT is NOW at JCT? What are they there for? Thanks in advance....

No. Read on. He has yet to come up with any kind of credible evidence of this wild claim.Doc W Thanks this.

Thanks LMB and Jarhed.
I have a question that may have already been asked. Just to let you know, I have scoured this post ALL DAY and I am really sick of reading... LOL! Here's my question... I am told by the recruiter that there is a "Regional" fleet that they started (one in OK and the other in TX), and that you get home "guaranteed" once a week for your 34 hr reset up to 48 hrs, and are "guaranteed" 2500 miles even the bad weeks that are below that. So... is this true?
Also, they now show on their website the 2012 (New) Cascadia, 09 Cascadia, 10 Pete 386, 09/10 International Prostar, and the 08/09 Kenworth T660. When I asked about the KW, I was told that we're not guaranteed a "certain truck" and must choose from those available during my time of orientation. First, is this also true? I think that kind of sucks if so. Secondly, what are the trucks that they have the most of, and in all probability will be waiting at the yard?
I am currently driving an 09 Cascadia, and ONLY like the seats and storage. The ride is horrible, and it has major issues with the WS washer tubing, the Bendix air dryer, the front blower fan and idle issues that Freightliner can't find. I would rather NOT get into one of those. So, that's why the above question.
Thanks! -
Thanks Alan,
I'll go back and dig through it when I'm not cross-eyed and blurry from reading 500+ pages.Alanp613 Thanks this. -
There is no in house DOT presence. I love how the rumors run rampant.

The regional positions are new to the areas you mention. I know we have a driver in the Wa state area and down in the state of Az that have pretty much the same set up. Those that need/want the extra time home seem to be happy with that.
As for the truck availability, the most numerous trucks we have are the ProStars and the Cascadias. I have a 09 Cascadia and have none of the issues you mention above. If you have your heart set on a certain kind of truck then I would suggest you select an older truck so as to make it easier for you to switch/upgrade into the KW later if none is available when you select your truck. The company is hesitant to have drivers trade down or backwards into older trucks. -
Thanks traffic, I appreciate your response. I guess we'll see. Their approval process takes a while, that's for sure! I should hear something today though.
Also, for you or anyone else, let me ask....
With the economy faltering and listening to the "experts", this year or the beginning of 2013 will bring about a collapse. Not only here, but probably worldwide. Is anyone concerned about that, and what are you're feelings on getting into a L/O at this time?
Thanks again... -
JCT hauls frozen food and fresh produce. People have to eat, no matter what the economy is doing.
