I don't know much about Link except that they have a Conditional rating right now. I can definitely say that Gene Hyde Trucking (bought out by Link) was a horrible company to work for. Bad, bad, bad...glad they are gone.

That's weird because everyone in this area raves about the gene hyde days

Could not tell u how many folks stayed on with link from Hyde but once while down there in Lakeland as a link driver I saw the safety lady helping a driver learn how to fudge his logs. That blew me away safety helping a driver fudge his logs!
-
Im going to call your bluff AGAIN. I know for a fact she wouldn't do that simply because how strict she is for minor errors. How do you know she wasn't correcting logs? Driver error....

Finally found out Link starts out paying 30.5 cents per mile; THEY MUST BE CRAZY! Didn't sound like if my hubby went with them he wd have a new truck either. Guess we will look elsewhere. Can't live on the pay! Oh well.
-
As far as the pay, like I said, we are still waiting on our raises. The new trucks however wouldn't be going out to new hires. They factor in seniority, safety and performance. Im getting mine next week. I wish your husband luck in finding a suitable company.

The funny thing is they are advertising on craiglist for .36 a mile for an experienced driver. When I was over there I actually got .36 a mile. I don't see how anyone could pay the bills on less. They advertise 2000 to 2400 miles a week so u can figure low end 565 to max 665 per week at .305 a week. Thats table scraps compared to what they are making per load. I think every driver out here should bring home 800 to 1000 per week we sacrifice to much w/ little reward. Any company that advertises new trucks but offers .305 per mile what a joke. I dont drive a brand new truck but its well maintained and i make alot more than .305 a mile. It makes sense though b/c link is the king and master of cheap freight they fall all over themselves to get as much as they can. 65% garbage recycled paper(loose not bales) 15% gp, and 20% p&g

Id like for you to post the craigslist ad that offers .36 a mile and new trucks.
Based on your % above your making it seem we only have 3 customers. -
Look at craigslist texarkana tx at dec. 28 post. Link america has 36 cpm for new hires.
Truckenstein Thanks this. -
I found It on craigslist little rock, AR posted Jan 17 advertised as great plains regional new drivers get .36 up to .38 per mile. Pick up a best driver jobs mag at the truck stop and look at page 50 they have it advertised there also. Sounds like u need to start asking some questions down there in Lakeland. That's kinda sad a new hire gets paid more than a current employee. Just another sad case of link putting it to their drivers. Never said they were advertising new trucks just that it would be a joke if they did at .305 a mile. And yep that's pretty much how links customers break down I did forget about the occasional over weight load of nestle water out of Miami o and don't tell dispatch it's overweight I can't carry it. Dispatch response is we are forced dispatch u can be fired for refusing a load if u have hours. And you have to call dispatch and get permission to scale before they would cover the cost of the scale. They said we are tired of drivers using the scale when not needed. So u have to wait on hold for an hour or so to permission to scale a load
