Yes, Im especially bad with my loads, and how I hang my chains on a headache rack and what not. I'm also VERY ocd about the interior of the trucks I'm driving...
-
Really? When you strap a tall load and have 6+ ft of strap blowing in the wind I always throw a 1/2 twist in it to stop the strap from "humming" going down the road. The sound drives me nuts and putting a 1/2 twist in it quiets it down.lostNfound and FREEBRD Thank this.

Loads such as pipe, lumber, shingles, super-sacks, if it's easy for me to crawl up on there they are going to lay flat.
-
I've always wondered what everybody elses opinion was on the twist. An old trucker that delivered us hay 6yrs ago told me about the twist. I'm now OCD about the twist.
-
Could you post a pic of what you are describing please. On my truck I have straps and am interested.

It's simple, you have a "half twist" in each side of the strap when securing loads and it takes the vibration out of the strap. If you don't the strap flutters in the wind and rubs against the load.SHC Thanks this.

Dude, post 409 is no twist. post 413 and 414 are half twist.SHC Thanks this.

I'll do a twist if the strap is not being covered by a tarp or is on metal. Lumber and such I try to keep them straight but if the loads 13'+ the twists will just have to stay cuz I ain't climbing it to straighten them out.
milskired Thanks this. -
Bad picture, but it works. I only twist the sides, flat on top, for obvious reasons.
On a lighter note, it's humorous that we're all arguing over whether or not to twist your straps. It's all personal preference, I just prefer to twist because I don't like the noise. Happy strapping, I hope it's warmer in your part of the country, #### Alberta Clippers are making it quite chilly here.Attached Files:
