Student in Louisiana

Good morning all. Been lurking on these forums for a couple weeks now and finally signed up. Starting second week of school this week, got my permit yesterday. Hoping I choose the right school and the right career since my last choice isn't workin out (thanks bp).

All i needed to start was a drivers license and social security card. Bring rain gear. Dress like one would for work or school. I can't believe what some of these guys show up wearing in the morning. Everything else is provided including books, logs, pens, ruler, etc.

 

Because of work & family stuff I didn't test until yesterday. I passed with just over a week left on my permit. I got at least 1 more job to do offshore, then it's time to find a trucking job unless I get offered a SATURATION DIVING job.
I hadn't been to class in 3 weeks, tested 1st day back, aced pre-trip, almost lost it on the 90, aced road portion.
I'm not sure, but I'm told it's no big deal to extend permit expiration. I was losing sleep over expiration dates, but, I passed! Yea me! There are 4 of us juggling work & class, I tested yesterday, 2 test today, then the last Wed or Thur.
If I had practiced backing a little yesterday before testing I feel I would have aced this as well. Even not having tried it for 3 weeks & jumping in the truck & doing it well enough to pass the test I feel is a testament to the quality of the training at this school. I have no regrets throwing down 5 large to attend this school. Will update once more when it's all said & done.
