I've seen several comments related to the lightweight trucks and them not having a passenger seat. Is this true? I was under the impression that the savings in weight came from the cut down sleeper and only having one fuel tank. I'm a little disappointed with the idea of not having a passenger seat. IIRC, Prime has a passenger policy, but with no passenger seat, it wouldn't be an option for me to ever bring a rider...

The lightweight trucks do come with a passenger seat but a lot of drivers choose to remove this seat so they can install a fridge in its place.

Well that could be a dilemma. I would use a fridge more often than a second seat, but it would be nice to have the option. Well, I won't worry too much about it til I get my own truck I guess. Thanks! :biggrin_25520:

It's really the other way around.

Prime removed the seats from the lightweights. They will put it back upon request.

However, that does not solve the question of where is your rider going to sleep when the truck is parked. It's a tough squeeze in that tiny sleeper.

I once saw a portly couple get out of a single bunk Schneider cabover sleeper (back in the day when they still used them) with two big dogs. I don't even want to think about it.....

I wonder if it would be possible to legally build a seat with a refrigerator as the bottom part. Flip up the part you sit in and theres a fridge. I dont know how you would put air bags or shocks under it though.

I had wondered about that too. Maybe I'd be better off with a fridge and no passenger. Lol.

    That's just nasty...

That's an interesting thought. Seems like if could be done relatively easily. Patent it and make millions! :biggrin_25515:

If you are very close with your passenger, it's do-able. I will not comment on how I know this to be true. :biggrin_2559:
