You will need the ecm for the 2ws. And believe you will also need a new engine wiring harness as well. You will probably need different cac pipes for hot and cold sides as well.
-
The engine comes complete with harness and ecm, but his truck is a western star so I'm I gonna need a complete new harness?
-
No need to change engine wiring harness and on a 2ws the cab to ecm is also good just bolt it in and ride.
-
I thought a 2006 would have a 120 pin ecm, 2ws a 70 pin.Don2WS Thanks this.

The plug between the engine and truck is a 70 pin on the Acert engines. You'll have some issues to work out with the ECM communicating with the dashboard gauges, but it's fairly easy to fix.
The problem I don't like is the engine from a Western Star has a low mount turbo. I'd change the exhaust manifold to a mid-mount for better exhaust flowOscar the KW and Don2WS Thank this. -
Yes It's 120 on the engine side, but 70 on the cab side.

Thank you everyone, I came to the shop early and engine is almost ready to come out but I need to wait til someone gets here so I can take it out. At this point I need the truck to go back rolling I found acert in west Virginia that looks great with 326k for 7800 out the door no core, I'm probably gonna take the acert route because I don't have cat et and I don't wanna get into more trouble and plus my driver/uncle is using my truck right now were relocating a factory from Chicago to milwaukee so things get tight at times
