Try googling "Cab Guards for big rigs" and some variations on that theme....You'll find what you're looking for.
TennMan Thanks this. -
A good source for these items is a trailer dealer, like Utility or other major brand.

Heres my choice of company for headache rack http://www.protech.net/ and boxes. Here is a company that sells all the otherstuff http://www.tarps4less.com/. I personally prefer kinedyne and ancra straps and try to find Made in the US chains and binders. Same goes for Bungees on the tarps and tarps. You can also find securement at truck dealers and chrome shops.

Working on a budget, try the local pawnshops...
Stay away from trkstps. I believe their prices are higher.
What is the name of the shop there on the east side of St. Louis. Il. side that I believe Landstar used to do alot with?
They allways seemed to have a bunch of stuff from what I was told.
In Il. Mutal Wheel has shops around in the middle and northern part of the state. They have a web site.
Not too sure about places in Tn. W. Memphis has different shops around to I believeSHC Thanks this. -
I've been pleased with tarpstop. They have good prices and fast service.

Tri city tarps in Granite City Ill. Pretty good prices. I bought a bunch of swag from them, including some custom tarps.

I got a pair of steel tarps from them a couple years ago, and they get as stiff as cardboard when ambient temp gets below 30*F. Not sure if I happened to get tarps made with a batch of bad material or what.
How are your tarps in cold weather? -
I've bought a lot of tarps through TriCity, long before I was with Landstar. The tarps are made to order exactly the way you want them and the color you want. They have good pricing on securement items as well. If you like service, these guys give it.
As far as tarps getting stiff when they get cold, they all do, even the tarps that I didn't get from TriCity. It's simple physics. What's really a pain is when you run through rain and then hit freezing weather. Frozen wet tarps suck!TennMan and The Challenger Thank this. -
I get that, but these get much stiffer than I'm used to seeing compared to other tarps I've used.
I have a set of 3-pc lumber tarps that came with my old trailer. These appear to be just as heavy (18 oz) and they do get stiffer in cold, but still manageable.
My steel tarps literally feels like cardboard. I tarped yesterday in Lansing, MI. Temp was in single digit so I did a sloppy job just to get back in the cab ASAP. The tarps were so stiff they didn't flap at freeway speed.
I'm not knocking Tri City. Their service is great, and I rarely hear anything bad about them. Just trying to find out what the deal is and no, I'm not planning on asking for a refund. I just don't want to end up with another pair of cardboard-like tarps when I buy the next set.TennMan Thanks this.
