It's not about the law, it's about what's right.

I was leaving a co. for a better job so....I asked the NEW employer IF my current job FIRED me would they accept me early...and they said yes.....so I tendered my 2 WEEKS notice..... and was fired immediately as a security risk. ( I hauled caustic ) ( and that is what they said )

Started the new jub on Monday........ ( then )

When I worked there in 2003 it was, but I'm not positive about now. I'm sure it is though.

it was 1100, but they decided to buy 3300, it is on crossroads and in their siruis ads.

plus my truck is getting decomissioned next month and was told I would proly get a brand new one cause they are buying 3300 more:yes2557:

I just read this entire thread being that I just accepted a conditional hire from Schneider and will be starting orientation on January 31st out of the Harrisburg/Carlisle terminal. Being my first trucking job, I spent two straight weeks once completing CDL training researching and calling company recruiters before deciding on a Regional run with Schneider (6 days out/ 3 days off). I hope I have nothing to worry about. :biggrin_25524:

There is no such law requiring two weeks notice. Employment contracts may be a different story.
There's another side to this. A coworker of mine (at a previous employer) gave two weeks notice before he left and they had him clean out his truck on the spot and got him a bus ticket home. I thought that was pretty unfair because he was a good driver who didn't destroy anything or cause problems and they really put him in a lurch because he had to have a lot of his stuff shipped home. It would have been easier for him to be routed home to clean out the truck and then get a load back to the yard. But they were afraid he would abandon it somewhere. No good deed goes unpunished.

Some of you all kill me with this attorney crap. I haven't been doing this stuff a long time but I don't know any Drivers that keep attorneys on retainer for giggles and grins.
