Swift passes them and they run 65? That lost all your credibility right there. We all know swift company trucks don't run 65. I'm governed at 63 and love to see them because they're one of the only ones I CAN pass. Every time
Okay......so I can get around the pumpkins and prime too but something about passing a truck that says 'swift' on the side that's going so slow lol

All I know is their SafeStat numbers are REALLY good for what you claim the equipment (tires) are in such bad shape.
375 inspections in the past two years:
Vehicle Inspection: 12.7% Out-Of-Service (20.72% is National Average)
Driver Inspection: 5.1% Out-Of-Service (5.51% is National Average)
Not too shaby!

If it's so #### great, why did you leave twice?!?
And don't give me that "personal reasons" or "Mom got sick" bologna either....getting sick of those answers, and starting to believe them less and less each 150 times I read them. -

This thread is kinda funny to me. It just goes to show that
what one driver loves in a job
another driver will hate.
I worked for Beacon from 09/2010 to 04/2011. Loved everything about it (except ComfortGuard apu that wasn't reliable). Shop was great - loved the mechanics who were VERY conscientious about keeping the equipment in good working order. Dispatch was great - especially Kieth Brown, my dispatcher (there were only two when I was there). Stan was a good guy from what I could tell - only dealt with him when Keith was out and Stan filled in at dispatch.
I made more money at .32 cpm than I ever did at .43 cpm. Straight pay without any "gimmick" come-ons, and good miles. Did a lot of John Deere, Bridgestone, and some others.
Got popped extraordinarily hard by Iowa DOT on a roadside inspection, and now Larry (Safety guy) won't rehire me.
In my opinion, one of the best trucking outfits out there - if you really want a job instead of spending time on the internet pissing and moaning.
Very high insurance deductible though - $2500.00 before any medical benefits, including prescriptions, kicks in.Last edited: Dec 3, 2011

White Dog, dont be barking up a tree ya cant handle. Last time I checked it was between Beacon and me for the 2 reasons I left. Who died and made you boss to where I gotta explain things to you. Now take your bone sit down chew on it and be a good boy. Cause I aint got time for your games. Consider yourself answered and have a nice day!

You know I decided I will tell you the reasons. The 1st time was due to being in a motorcylce accident. I was gone for 2 months. The 2nd time was due to a better job offer that put me home every night. When he went out of business. I came back to Beacon. So now Im curious to see what you gotta say about my reasons. Be warned. I got my leash. So dont get to far outta line ya hear.

I have to agree with the other driver who said they don't take care of equipment and most of the trucks go to Volvo because their mechanics don't work on the trucks. I have pictures of the tires that were on my truck when I cleaned it out and also some recordings of phone messages of them telling me to run a load with no trailer brakes.... I have also sit a lot and lost my house and my car while I was working for them.... I also made a little phone call and stop by DOT let's see if they can get their crap straight now..... When they fired me due to not being able to get my TWIC card after telling me they would work with me, they left me with no money and no way home..... They waited 3 weeks after I told them about my TWIC being denied before they fired me and during that three weeks my normal truck I was driving for them was at Volvo...They gave me a loner truck to drive and it broke down in Florida while running a broker load for them... I was stuck in Florida for a week then was sent to North Carolina and the truck broke down again.... So You drivers that think they are so good then you like driving crap and working for people that don't care about drivers safety....

are you still there? just wondering if things are still going o.k., I gave them a second look after I read this post and put in an app.
