Vegaspainter very good posts.Does Thomas require Hazmat before hiring. My problem is i have a Florida class A no hazmat and i am currently in the philippines. I do have experience but not with tankers only vanIf so probably would be easier to just get a texas license but there is time waiting for hazmat to comeback.By some chance do you happen to know if you can apply online. Not trying to buck the system but would have a lot better feeling to have a job waiting.Airplane ticket isn't cheap. Also you have never mentioned DOT physicals i'm sure they require do they give or is it up to driverThanks for any info you may give

What is the pay like in other parts of Texas. Husband is currently working in SE Texas with a vacuum truck outfit for 16.00 an hour with plenty of hours. He has hauled crude oil, transported drilling rigs, pulled stringing trailers with 80 foot pipe, operated every vacuum truck known to man, operated heavy equipment on rig sites. Anything in the oilfield, pipeline, or refinery work he has done. He has 9 years of cdl driving and has hazmat, tanker, doubles and a TWIC card. Does anyone know of any job in Texas that pay over 100k for drivers? He is not afraid of working long hours and is willing to relocate.

Welcome to Texas from a former New Yorker. I'm sure my company is hiring. Things have gotten real busy the last two weeks. The company, Silverline is down the street from the Pilot. PM me if you need any names or any other info I can help you with.

Yeah Patt52. Basically it will cost you the four grand if u don't work for them for a full year. It's 18 days in Ft. Worth then four weeks in Midland with a trainer then you're on your own. Supposedly you would be working 48 to 55 hours a week on average. Thats what recruiter said at 17 an hour.

regdawg1....Ok I just happened to think, that is cost for someone that doesn't already have CDL. For the extra days. Was sure I had been quoted a different figure. Still giving it some thought but going to see how a couple other possibilities turn out first.
