here at stevens the policy seems to be disregard anyones needs but your own. i mean how hard would it really be to steam line the internal processes here by simply creating an undisputable chain of comand. i am told by one dept. that it's not there job to dispatch me then by my dm he has to get my dispatch cleared w/ the dept. who just blew me off! we could all make more$$ as well as more $$ for the company if they would just communicate w/ one another.:biggrin_25513:

Remember, this is a training company, and the process that may seem so simple might need to be tweeked due to a driver's status.
An example is dispatching a driver on a load that requires them to drive across I-90 into Spokane from the east, during winter months.
Dispatch cannot send you on this route if you're not qualified and your DM will be the first to say yes or no.
But he may need to speak to dispatch or the CSR to see if there's money on this load available to route you thru Boise, Stanfield and into Spokane from the west.
If there is, they may reroute the trip that allows the driver to take the load. If not, perhaps the driver isn't qualified for this route. (experience).
All is not as simple as it may appear.

There is a chain of command. Safety trumps all and is the top of the chain.

Under safety is operations which is equally divided between planners, dispatchers, and CSRs (customer service reps)

Then comes your DM who does not get your loads. The DM does handle repowers and is your point of contact.

At times the communication is lacking. EspecIally when one does not understand the inner workings or assumes with out asking for clarification.

Stevens is a BFI training company. They are completely unconcerned whether you make $$$ or not. Do your 6 months to a year and move on.

Rodzilla has absolutely no idea what he's talking about.
However, he's entitled to his opinion.
