What would you like to know?
I see you are in California. That would mean the only terminal they could run you out of is in AZ. We do not do allot of California but we do some.
If you see trucks in your area then you should be good lol.
Pay is above the average for the industry, extras are a little lacking at the moment.
I think many of them will come back soon though if they want to keep the drivers they have.
Right now we have no detention, no pay for delivery's in the same city you pick up in (sucks around terminals but it is rare to get these), you have to fight to get any layover, and stop pay sometimes has to be fought for (they forget to give it).

Trucks are mostly new but in the west we are still running mostly very low mileage 2007 9400 internationals. Cali had some issue with our preorder prostars so they took them all out of cali.
Heartland is a short to medium haul company. The longest runs you will see will be maybe 1000 miles. Miles average 2200-2400 a week, they say. I have been seeing more than that most weeks for the last 2 months.
If regional you should be home 2-3 weekends a month.

That is about it. I am not sugar coating it at all. They really need to get some of there programs back that they use to have, to get drivers the extra money they deserve. I believe they will soon. They are loosing drivers and not able to hire as fast as they are loosing them with current policy's.

Trucks are bare bones but very well maintained. No APU, and they want idle kept down.
If you have any specific questions let me know. They are not the worst company out there and not the best. But they are debt free and stable.

    The Challenger Thanks this.

I know, I checked that before I went to them.
Oh another negative, we cannot run the Indiana or Ohio pikes. Pain in the rear, but I am getting use to it.
They try hard to not give drivers loads that cannot deliver on time, but at times loads will be very tight. Especially on some of the night runs that I do out of Columbus.
But they will not push drivers to drive in bad snow storms either, but at times this will frustrate you when they shut down the area you are in and the weather is not that bad yet.
They are good about getting another driver to you so they can swap out loads that get behind. On all of our contracts we have a 98% or better on time. Many of them are 100% on time.
This helps allot with getting company's to pay our rates, which are higher than many dry freight company's.

I ran into a few teams a while back that were very happy with miles, and I have run into some that had real problems.
The happy ones were company and the other team I talked to was an O/O couple that was very unhappy.
The problem is that they could not get use to the short hauls. Since we do nothing long distance they get loaded once or twice a day. This sucks up allot of on duty hours.
You can get miles, but you will have to work for them.

Heartland is a good company. They have the highest pay of any carrier, the newest fleet of equipment (all model year 2010, 2011, 2012), and family time is pretty good (get home most weekends in the regional operations). Miles are just ok, but with the high pay per mile it works out well.

you no longer have to fuel just at the terminals, they have an automatic approval for fuel stops in route for best price.

they have a lot of good things goin right now, I do not plan on leaving anytime soon.
