Sounds like you went through the Class A procedures. When you road tested, the tester should of had you demonstrate a pretrip. If he let you slide, that's on him and I wouldn't worry about it.

You probably got air brake restricted because you brought a vehicle without airbrakes for testing.

As long as class A is on the license and you drive the same vehicle, you are good to go.

If you ever want to step up to air brakes I bet you could sneak back and just take the exam again and get it added.

Your situation is a little strange because the vehicle you took to the road test is all.

I,m confused the op says he took a class test, and passed, his lic says he holds a class A , airbreak test are done on paper, same as hazmat, tank, double/triples and passenger, and dmv says he has a class A, whats the problem , youre good to go.

He showed up in a F350 with a dump trailer >26,001lbs GVWR with no air brakes for the road test. So they restricted him on air brakes even though he took the written part is all.

So all he needs to do is go take the brake test, i thougt he said his dl didn,t show a brake rescrition, which would tell me he has air on it, my understanding was he holds everything but passenger, he should be ok, just no annoying passengers, win win.

It will only show AB rescriction if you can Not drive a truck with air brakes. Youre good to go, keep the rubber on pavement, and avoid lot bombs an lizards

yes it should say something like class A no a/b, and also if you took the test in a pick up and trailer that is classified as a class A rig it would be a class A restricted, class A is tractor trailer and class A restricted is truck and tag trailer, so i would think it should say something like class A restricted No A/B.
