Not having an mt is just like before, just do your mt call and send in the macro asking for an mt. They really can't sf you if your late because of needing a trailer. The computer does seem to think you are a machine but just put in what time you can make and if its within the window it changes it for you. If it takes it off you then no loss, showing up late is no good for you the customer or swift anyways. It usually don't take long to get sent another one.
One thing it really lacks is a little common sense and reasoning. It tried to give me a load to pick up tomorrow at 0400 and deliver at 1500 about 250 miles away, plenty of time obviously but its a live unload at a grocery warehouse. I tried to put in a 0800 pick up, still plenty of time to get it there but my 14 won't almost be up and it took it off me. This load could have picked up today but only 1 hour left on my 14 so no way was I doing that. The system just seems to assume you can just shut down wherever you happen to be when hours are up.
15 minutes later get another plan, not really a better one about 50 less miles but loaded is under 100 so extra money for that and just grab it get there asap so I can at least hopefully get another load before the day is up.
It takes a little getting used to but you can kinda tell if its really a window or set time. Live unloads usually still have plenty of time, windows are tight and have weird times like 1540. If it looks like a window to me I just calculate what time I think is reasonable and most of the time it just adjusts it and sends it back to me. Usually I'm early but my life is much less stressful this way. I passed by two jackknifed trucks last night that just had to make there appointment time even though the road was icy and it was snowing. Now that load is really late.

While you are waiting for them to find an mt for you, call around to customers in the area see if any customer have an mt available. Sometimes csr will send you far to get an mt when you can get one few miles away, this will save your drive time and you can be on your way sooner to get your other load. I do it all the time and they never question where I get that mt trl.

oh boy, first week on plus one with elogs, both at the same time...................ewwwww.yeah I see all the problems posted before a little different when it is me!lol, but i got thru it,was late a couple times but was within the window thaat i committed to and also after chasing trls a couple times(god I hate that!)and they do keep you moving with it,but I was on the holiday fleet so that maybe why too. That plus one,as soon as i would get my dispatch it would kick back a stupid tight timeframe,so on my loaded call would just stretch it out a bit,and got the pta reset message.nobody said anything to me about it,but i was in the original timeframe,so thats probably why no one fussed, but its more than a little annoying having a computer pushing you strictly as if you are a machine that doesnt tire and can just park anywhere at any time(pissed and resentful about it!) so they need to adjust it more, but it was pretty much as all had stated here before, glad you shared this info.I just have to watch it more on pp,so i dont commit to the super tight timeframes it wants you to do........................

You get used to it. Really all the super tight ones are drops with a window, unless its just a normal JIT load so just set it to what you want with mac 9 and your all good. All the live unloads I have had with plus one have had the usual amount of time on them. I do think they tweaked it down a little, load I just finished was 1450 miles and I managed to get there exactly when plus one said. I took breaks when I needed to, even left 1 1/2 hours after my 10 was up on the last day and was even delayed an hour waiting for on road to come to the shipper to fix the trailer.

So how's plus one treating everyone these days?
For me, may eventually be my calling for the door to elsewhere.
Gone are the days of a quick look at a preplan and accepting it.
Very few can be run the way they are sent.
You need to fully plan your trip *before* accepting to put in the pu/del times you
can actually make, and hope it accepts it. Or maybe sit and sit if not.
I was a master at running my schedule/hours/miles and was very productive and fairly happy.
Back when the 'real' preplan/plan was sent l, like with a drop window of all day,
I am/was going to deliver as soon as reasonable to get another load and make more $,
not deliver at end of window so I can goof off.
Now the computer always has me running ###### up loads with ###### up hours and
and ###### up schedules like I am some kind of zombie robot.
Edit: guess my suggestion (if I was running things) would be to let productive drivers
do their thing, and require non-productive drivers not meeting goals to 'plus one'.fr8monkey Thanks this. -
It seems a bit better, my miles have been really good over 3000 a week past 3 weeks. It stills sends some goofy stuff every once in a while, the fuel stops are messed up for me on almost every trip. I am thinking the fuel routes expire after a couple days or because the computer sees a new price, that is a pain at times to get a fuel stop refreshed cause it wont work even though its on the route. I have had some long haul loads lately so that happens more on those.
I wish they would automate the def on the fuel cards, that is another pita every week or so, I hate pulling into terminals as well. -
Just thouth I bring this back up.Hows this new Program working for u guys?
-
Not sure if it is indicative, but in the past couple weeks I have had to refuse fewer loads because of time constraints.

Ok,boys and girls.....lets reprise this one for a moment,k? lol
Here is the situation.I sit a couple hrs past my pta after coming of hometime, anxious to go allready in the truck,waiting...i decide to hit the mac 30,just to see(it never seems to go well with mac 30 in so cal) but what do you know a load offer and thru phoeinix too,i need to do some business at the terminal.........oh wait 7 hrs from pu to drop,355 miles, middle of the night also....Cant change the hrs like you can with a load offer from aplanner and mac 9,no go I decide, but send a msg to my pod saying i can do that with more flexible hrs, they say see what the planners send.........crickets for like 8 more hrs. So I do it again...wow takes like 30 minutes to get it back.WOW great offer..........really tight again but from what I see by the weight and city to load and unload,I know exactly who this is,it will work but boy, strictly 10 on,10 off for 4.5 days, also it should be a JIT load and Hi value too.......just wish there was a way to get these hrs extended or use your ontime percentage on a rolling 12 months to determine who sees the "real hours" and who gets pushed around like a robot.......scottied67 Thanks this. -
Don't take an intermodal w/o a back up. The computer will treat you as going to the final, not the tcall at the railhead. PTA is 6 days out, DM can't pull it in but for a one time shot, then no loads, since the system is looking for loads at the final and I obvioulsy won't be there tomorrow.
fr8monkey and scottied67 Thank this.
