that'll probably be added to the plan for tonight, i haven't heard anything about a preplan, and i jus made it back to the receiver with a new release number, but now i have to wait to get into a hole because the rest of the trucking world is awake and working now.

Yeah... I like late loads and drops. Seems like the whole state of Texas is done working by noon... it took me 6 truck stops and 75 miles to find a spot last night. I'm in Huntsville near Houston. Had to park in a muddy lot.

Hi Smaggs been following your posts since the beginning and your last post was so right on, to one of my biggest concerns the industry is dragging their feet on this the feds have done studies about it. It is dangerous the driver has to go looking for a place to park when they are tired and out of hrs.:biggrin_25516:

Not enough large truck stops. That and pickup trucks with uhaul trailers suck. They take up parking needed by pro truckers running on HOS

That's why I dont like to go to eastern U. S. If you don't get a place to shut down for your break around 5 pm, then you're sol.

In the past, I have used google earth. Just look around popular shipping areas and railroad yards, there are usually areas you can park on a side street with a truck. I once parked in a cul-desac by the Pilot in Huntsville near the airport. The Wal-Mart or the Kroger by the I45 frontage has been reasonable as well at night. But the GOV plates might have kept me out of trouble.

Unloaded my bailed cardboard in Dublin, Ga then deadheaded to Augusta, Ga for drop n' hook roll stock. Dropped it on drop yrd in Chester, Va. Jus woke up and about to head to Pilot to send off paperwork so they can make payroll.

A very tasty young woman dubbed me "a sexy bassist" and said ' thanks for keeping the theory alive'. I asked what she meant she told me that most bassists are hot. So charming, she was.
