The swr on my cobra29Ltd is sky high when
its snowing out or when snow sticks to the antenna or coax. I run a 18' coax and a Wilson 2000 can anyone help me out with why this is happening and how I can fix it? Thanks

next question.....AXE Thanks this. -
Stay out of the snow...

I heard that peaking my radio and adding a kicker would throw more heat and possibly keep the ice from forming on the antenna and coax. Is this true or just a bunch of bull?

Only if you run a Skullcracka.

grasshopper13 Thanks this.

About only thing you can do is knock the snow/ice off of it before you transmit.
FYI skullcrackas transistorized amps do not like anything above 1.2,,,, Above that and you are taking a chance of releasing the magic smoke....
Dave, xforce, fatboy do not like above 1.3
Most Texas stars.... Do not like above 1.5grasshopper13 Thanks this. -
How much will a 48 or 60 pill amp run me? And is it something I can install or do I need a shop to do it. I live in Erie Pa and dolt know of a good shop close by.

48 pill is about $4000
figgure a few thousand more for the alternators , motor maul and extra batteries and you'll be set .
JJD's idea about knocking the snow off is a whole lot cheaper , and a much much better idea IMO . -
