LOL. Yes, the voices in my head. I never know what they're going to say next ("Yes you do know!" "No you don't!"). The three of us hope the two of you have a good day.

I honestly can't say what toll this will take on me and my family and I am very concerned about that, but I have to do what I have to do. I just hope that I can make it work for me and mine.[/QUOTE]

Not my 3rd voice, but my 2nd tells me family is family and they will be just fine and things always have a way of working out

Trucking not for everybody but yes theres plenty of time to think..If you can handle 12-14 hour days in a mostly thankless job then go for it...

TRY to have a plan B in case you get tired of it. For me the shine wore off after about 5 years. That was after dereglation. Loosing my union job. Sleeping in trucks instead of motels. Running hot and falling asleep at the wheel. Dispatchers letting you sit for not doing the impossible. But I STILL like it.

Plan B is always good. Maybe after a bit of time away from teaching I may actually want to go back...but for the time being I am not thinking that way. Thanks for the advice

Teaching is pretty thankless in itself. Parents and Admin love to find the negative through all the positive.

Well for me I basically grew up in a truck when my parents got divorced my dad started driving and I would go along whenever possible. I turned 16 and got my license... in MN that allows you to haul grain in state so I started doing that then turned 18 got my CDL and started driving in state then went OTR when I turned 21. So it wasn't a major life change to get into it I just sort of been doing it all my working life.

I did it. I turned in my leave of absence for the next school year. It has been approximately a year since I got a refund from the trucking school, but I am ready to give it a real go around this time.
