When I went it was in Kingsport and covered mostly hazmat and company policies. Now I believe they spend some time on the Smith System as well. Just don't be late for class.

You got that right. DON'T be late. Robert and the rest of our class had to talk Jack out of firing a guy that was late twice. He was a Carry driver. Not sure how you screw up the alarm twice, but he did. Great class you'll learn a lot. I wish we had the pumps you Carry drivers do. Those things can move some product. I saw a Carry tankwash once and couldn't believe how clean it was. You could eat off the floor. I know there are food grade tankwash standards, but they make the Superior tankwashes look like garbage. Take good notes at class. You can use them all for the test.

I'm new to sales with the Carry (7 months in now). You'll be happy to know they had me ride-along for 2 weeks before cutting my teeth on the sales portion of our business. It has proved invaluable as I really got eye-to-eye with what happens on a daily basis.

Long story short, I'm just "blood-sucking overhead." And if it wasn't for you guys working your you-know-whats off, I wouldn't have a job. So thanks!

To echo what Giff said, Jack and Robert are great instructors and do a great job at getting everyone to succeed. Even a total newbie like myself, who only sat shotgun in a truck for the first time 2 months prior, was able to pass the class with flying colors.

Just be on time, stay awake, and be open to learning new things. You'll be fine.

FYI, the training center (TDC) is now in Greer, SC.

I wouldn't call sales "blood sucking overhead". Without you guys we wouldn't have loads to pull. Glad to hear they had you ride along some.

This is a practical joke played on a poster on this board who goes by Kentucky24 and MorterMan when he was at the training center. Cyanide/Carlo filmed the video and it was his posts on another board that directed me to the company when I started driving.

Well they went pretty well. The people at the bridgeview yard are great people my trainer is a good guy I don't feel any pressure to hurry. But there is a lot of paperwork to learn so I am really paying attention to detail an trying to learn it as fast as I can. Looking forward to starting another week of training on mon I'm really glad I choose this line of work an this company. Things with pulling tanker are a lot different then pulling a van that's for sure but I was lookijng for a new challenge anyways.... Have a good weeek guys be safe..

    1/29-31

Grabbed a preloaded trailer Sunday delivering in Indianapolis Monday at 9 AM after sitting at the house since Wednesday afternoon.

I was a little pissed when I found out they let another driver run a load up to Holland Mi and back Thurs-Sat in my truck because his new truck broke down. I could have used the miles since I am looking at about a 1300 mile week and that is running 400 on Sunday. To add insult to injury he smoked in it my truck smells like an ash tray.

Got unloaded and was tankwashed to Cincinnati. They had me picking up a preloaded trailer on a tight turn around heading up to Medina Oh (330 miles or so). I had an amber check engine light that was staying on and I was hoping to get a longer load so I had the shop check it out. They sent me around the corner because the Cincy terminal doesn't own a computer to check the codes. Turns out I needed a new ERG valve. This shop was good and got me out in 2 hours in time to still do the Medina load...If it hadn't been pushed back to Wednesday.

I am now on a out and back load in a compartmented trailer to Sparta NC. Waiting to load now and one of the products isn't ready. Should be back to Cincinnati tomorrow. Hopefully they will have something with some miles on it for me.

Glad things are going well. Paper work can be tedious, and when I talk with drivers, they can feel like a secretary at time. But they all say that you get the routine down eventually.

Have you received any training on the EOBR / Qualcomm? What are you thoughts on that?
